    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Jetpack by WordPress.com.

First, visit your website (https://www.trona-ca.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.trona-ca.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?_fs_blog_admin=true) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.5
Current theme: Twenty Twelve (version 3.2)
Current plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com (version 8.8.2)
    PHP version 7.3.21

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 41 of the file /(removed)/public_html/trona-ca.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/(removed)/public_html/trona-ca.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php73/root/usr/share/pear’)

When Jetpack is disabled the site works fine. Deleting and reinstalling Jetpack does not help.

I’ve checked all my sites and all of them were broken by the same error.

@253david many of us, myself included are having a similar issue.

Hostgator. Has anyone contacted Hostgator support? Before I do that I will wait to see what answers the Jetpack team comes up with.

Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.

I’m with Hostgator and I have NOT contacted them yet – I wanted to see if something was working here first…. I know they’re just going to tell me it’s a jetpack issue, nothing they can do.

    Hi there,

I see you’ve both already commented on the other thread where one of our developers are investigating, so I’m going to mark this one as resolved so we can keep updates on this in one place.

We’ll follow up on the other thread as soon as we have more information. For now, deactivating Jetpack is unfortunately the only workaround, as @jeherve said on that thread.

    I have good news!

Bluehost found out which of their internal scans was removing the file, and fixed it. The problem should now be solved.

You should be able to re-install Jetpack now, the file should not get removed again.

Note: If you had only deactivated Jetpack via WordPress’ recovery mode, you’ll want to delete the plugin, and then re-install it from scratch.

If any of you still experience issues with a fresh installation of Jetpack, let us know!
