• Installed Solid Security on my WP ecommerce site, using WP and Divi. After installing SS, I can see its dashboard, but that is it. None of my other WP admin tools on the menu work, none of the Solid Security tools or menu options work. The only thing I can view in WP is the Solid Security dashboard. Everything else comes up as “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

The website is still up, but I obviously can’t make any changes. When I run the backup from before installing Solid Security, I’m back to being able to use WordPress.

It appears to happen not immediately. I installed Solid Security the second time and waited a day before making any changes inside the plugin. After opening Tools and running some of the options, I get the error (changing user ID worked, the others say “cookie error” and don’t run. I did not set the encryption key. Definitely after running the MU Plugin Loader (which failed), I immediately got the error message.

What am I doing wrong? Not a programmer. Just trying to follow instructions.

    Hey @rebeccajd!

Welcome to the WordPress forums, and Solid Security! We can definitely get things sorted out here.

Some of the options under the tools menu are relatively advanced, and best done only by somebody who knows what they are doing. Specifically the options like removing admin users or changing database settings can go sideways easily

I’d recommend starting with the onboarding wizard, and going through there. We wrote this documentation to help get you started: https://solidwp.com/documentation/security/setup-guide/getting-started-with-solid-security/

Just walking through the onboarding and following the steps in that document will protect you from 99% of threats to your site.

Let me know if there’s any part of that doc that is confusing at all. I can both correct the doc, and get you all set.

I need help on a similar issue.

I have a There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. message.

I went to my admin email but it had an old outdated email address in there so I corrected the email address to what I am using. How do I generate a new email of telling me what is wrong?

    2. I added the plug in “Shipstation” today and now I can’t update any of the fields like Inventory and shipping basically anything under product data.

Please if someone can help me. I am trying to figure out how to do some backups.

I have access to the program but now can’t add or modify anything.
