 * Hi everyone. After trying to add a new plug-in (Visual Composer) my wordpress
crashed down and I could only see the error page of “There has been a critical
error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
   Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”
 * I did not receive any email, also not in the spamfolder. On other forums I see
the suggestion of manually fixing it by working with ftp but I don’t have that..
Any suggestions? I can not login to my admin page either so I’m very stuck.
 * I was just starting to work on my website so I wouldn’t mind having it reset
   if it can help.

 * Access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/),
or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting
provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
and rename or delete the directory of this plugin.
 * Next report the issue at [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/visualcomposer/](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/visualcomposer/)

 * Rename the plugin folder will deactivate the plugin without logging in WordPress.
You should should be fine if it is the plugin that caused the error.
 * You can also enable WordPress debug to check the error messages.
 * Both the above requires access to your website files, either FTP or hosting panel
file manager. you can contact your hosting provider for FTP account info or a
   hosting control panel access (cpanel/plesk/etc)
