    Hello !

I am currently having a problem with the plugin. After setting up the settings (following your document for Gmail), the error appeared at the end of the process. And since then, each time I want to access the settings, the critical error is repeated…

By activating the debug version, here is what it says in the last lines : […] wp-content / plugins / wp-mail-smtp / src / Admin / Area.php on line 466

What is going on ? Thank you in advance for your answer ! ^^

    Hi @peufa,

are you maybe using a non-English language for your WordPress? Which language are you using? Please let us know and we can look into it.

I think it could be an incorrect translation string.

Same here as of this morning.
    Using WordPress : 5.8.3
    WP Mail SMTP : 3.2.1
    Language : French

    Hi,

it looks like the text on that line was not translated correctly (it’s missing the placeholder %s).

@nicolasricher thank you for updating the French translations in our plugin, but there is a mistake in one of the strings (maybe more). I already fixed it in the stable and dev branch, but you have to accept them first (I could only make a suggestion edit). Could you please accept my suggestions in both branches so users won’t get this PHP error anymore? Thanks!

    Have a nice day!

Hello and thank you for your reply !

Indeed, I switched WordPress from French to English and I no longer have this problem 😉 We will do like that while waiting for a next update ^^

    @ soon !

    Hi everyone,

    The translation is approved.

@capuderg you should avoid to add variables in existing strings that previously did not have placeholders. It would lead to errors that like this one.

I can see in the translation history that there were precise discounts before (20%, 50%).

    Hi Nicolas,

    Thank you! 🙂

That’s exactly why we needed to add it as a placeholder. Some users created translations with different discount values and that lead to confusion of the actual discount…

So, to follow up : With the updated translations, the critical error no longer exists, which is great. However, when I try to access the settings, nothing is displayed except the “license” panel. But nothing more below (configuration, etc)… Which is annoying :p By the way WordPress in English, everything works 😉

    Hi @peufa,

thank you for letting us know.

I went through all French translations and fixed a few more strings that could cause issues (stable and dev branches). @nicolasricher could you please also review those strings and approve them?

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi @capuderg,

All the waiting strings have been approved.

    Have a nice day!

Hello ! With the translation updates, the “Settings” tab displays all the panels, including the configuration ^^ Everything is working now. Thank you anyway for your responsiveness 😉
