# Critical Error

 * Hi there,
 * I have a website that is coming up with a critical error and I can’t log on. 
   I have tried disabling the plugins and the theme and have manually updated wordpress
   but it is still not working. I have since found the following error but I am 
   unsure how I should fix this – can anyone help? Fairly new to all this and still
   learning!
 * PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp_unregister_GLOBALS()
   in /home/domains/vol2/039/3255039/user/htdocs/wp-settings.php:61

   php) and the directories wp-admin and wp-includes.

 * Ok, I’ve done that and now when I go to the website, it gives this:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”Failed <spa’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE)
   in /home/domains/vol2/039/3255039/user/htdocs/wp-includes/post.php on line 457

 * Through FTP – I downloaded from the wordpress website and then uploaded to my
   FTP. Was this correct?

 * I know you’ve done this several times, but have you downloaded afresh from wp.
   org each time?
