On my theme (minima plus), this can be seen at the bottom:

“Minima Plus is based on blogger template Minima, originally by Douglas Bowman. Enhanced and ported to WordPress by Theron Parlin.”

I would like to get rid of it but just wanted to check first that it’s allowed? Or do I have to leave it on?

(Apologies if this has already been asked, i did do a search but couldn’t find anything)

That theme doesn’t seem to carry any info about GPL, though I don’t doubt it is.
Why not email the author ?

Silly me, I didnt think of that!!

If there is no license it’s always good to contact the author. However, all the themes that participated in the Alex King’s theme competition were required to be under GPL or similar license… Quote from the Rules:
“All themes must be released under a GPL compatible license (if a license is not specified, you agree that you are releasing the theme under the GPL license by submitting it to the competition).”

I take it that under GPL the author has to be credited?

Just had a reply from the author saying that he is happy for me to take it off.

Thank you both for your help!
