• Seriously? A credit card that you will automatically charge if you scan more than 250 links? Please disclose this upfront so people don’t waste their time. If this was disclosed up front, I would not have an issue with this.

    Hi @jeffw203,

    Thank you for your review.

We understand how important it is for our plugin to meet your needs, and we’re truly sorry to hear about your experience. We know that it can be frustrating to feel caught off guard by any terms of service, especially concerning payment. Your feedback is really valuable to us, and we’re grateful that you took the time to share your thoughts.

Our product is designed with specific features to ensure efficiency, and we do disclose on our WordPress.org page and our website that the plugin is free, allowing for scanning up to 250 links each month.

We do state that you’ll only be upgraded if you exceed 250 links per month, and this is indeed why we require a credit card when you sign up for an account. The monthly charges are minimal and cover the cost of our infrastructure, as all scanning is performed on our servers, not yours. This eliminates the issue that other broken link checkers have, where they use up resources on customer’s servers, slowing down their sites. That doesn’t happen with our plugin.

We apologize if this wasn’t clear, and we’re committed to ensuring our policies are as transparent as possible. Please feel free to reach out to our Support team via the contact page on our website if you need any further assistance or have any additional questions. We’re happy to help and make sure you get the most out of Broken Link Checker!
