Support » Plugin: WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway » Credit Card Fraud Prevention – Order status changed from Pending to Failed

  • Resolved sounds

I have the Stripe gateway enabled,
The last 3 order attempts were with credit cards.
    Stripe blocked each order.

    Stripe Risk Evaluation:

    Payment declined by rule
    The decline code was highest_risk_level.

Blocked by a default Radar rule
    Jan 25, 2020, 8:42 AM

    Stripe risk evaluation: highest
Primary risk factor: Previous payments on this card have been made from locations far from the location of the current payment.

Is it possible to set this up so only verified Stripe users could make an order?
Like PayPal where you have to use a verified PayPal account to place an order.

I’m assuming these people don’t even have Stripe accounts,
But I’ll know more about their status soon.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @sounds,

The Stripe gateway doesn’t require an account to make a payment, as it’s purely a way to pay via credit card. The key selling point for this payment gateway, unlike some others, is that no account is required to make payment.

If you’d like more information in regards to why these payments were marked as highest risk level, I’d suggest reaching out to Stripe support. They may have more information information than we do as to why this occurred.

    Thank you,

    Hi @sounds,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thank you,

    Sorry Joey,

    I gets so distracted,

I don’t know how I can stop people signing up on my site, I mean I have no way
of telling if someone trys to commit fraud by using fake credit cards on Stripe.
But I do know their security is very good fraud prevention.
Every payment has been rejected so far.

At the end of the day it affects my estore if someone trys to commit fraud.
The best thing about PayPal is they can’t even make an order unless they have
a verified paypal account, whereas with Strip they don’t even need to sign in.

    Thanks for the info.
