Creating your own (WordPress) TinyMCE Buttons

  • Find enclosed a little code contribution I’d like to offer to anyone interested or who has hit a wall trying to enrich the already well equipped WP TinyMCE editor.

    Since I add quite a bit of custom styles, classes and general code to my posts, I always had to switch back and forth between HTML/WYSIWYG views and keep my fingers crossed that wpauto wouldn’t clean up any extra code. Anyway, long story short here is good (I find 🙂 starting point for adding your personal touch to your editor, hopefully making your daily or weekly writing more efficient.

  • Super, exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much for putting this package together – perhaps for a future update: a few more comments/explanations in the code files would be really helpful 😉

    Other than that it’s like you said a great starting point.

    JP, ‘Glad you find it useful. Documentation wise, I can’t promise anything, but do believe that the code is pretty ‘transparent’ and doesn’t really require much explanation. Just let me know if run into any walls.
