So, I am a newbie. I have read quite a bit in the forums but feel quite unsure how to go about this.
I have a site that already have many visitors that I want to move to WordPress maintaining the same domain name. I will redo the whole structure and add a lot of features. Since I have over 200 pages of written information I have a lot (I am talking about a month or two at least) to do before it would be ready.
Mu doubt is if I need a live server host to use WordPress, should I register and setup a temporary domain I build and test my site on and then when it is done move that info to my existing domain I then will have set up for WordPress? Or is there a way to build a WordPress site completely offline and then move it to a live domain? From what I understand WAMP is what most people use if you have a PC like I do, can you build a site completely offline using that or does it need to be connected to a domain and a webhost? The cost is not the issue, more what is most practical. I am after the best solution…
Thanks for any help!
