creating subdirectory

    Are you trying to put a separate blog in the about directory? If you’re trying to make an about section in your blog, you don’t need to create a new directory. You can do something like using the categories feature in WordPress.

    it appears that you are not using clean URL’s in permalinks. turn on clean URL’s and make a page called About. the rest will be handled by the almighty wordpress.

    erm…i still don’t quite get it. currently i have an about page. but the url is http://ishimmer.net/?page_id=7. i want it to appear as ishimmer.net/about instead of the page id number. how do i go about doing it?

    go to Options>Permalinks and set up the clean URL. then the page http://ishimmer.net/?page_id=7 can also be called by http://ishimmer.net/about/ mimicking a real directory.

    alrighto. thanks for helping. i guess i will figure it out, although i’m really new in WP. =)
