• I’m managing a blog that employs a format of one single page each month and the page contains various articles. Each article is accessible by use of a menu with hyperlinks to the appropriate “anchor” for each specific article.

I want to be able to insert a share button at the end of each article on the page so that the article might be shared on FB/Linked-In/Twitter etc. by using linking back to the anchor, so that the one using that link will be presented with the article itself and not be required to scroll through the entire page to find it.

Is there a widget/plug-in that will do the job for me? Please advise as to how to accomplish this. Thanks!

  • I could be wrong, but am quite certain that FB & Twitter don’t support anchor tags in shared links (i.e. they are stripped when you share a URL containing them). I previously employed a workaround for Twitter sharing that used a URL parameter and jquery to locate anchors. If someone had the know-how, it could be extended to your case.
