I’m running version 2.3.4 of SpeakOut on version 5.3.2 of WordPress. I have previously created SpeakOut petitions successfully, but now when I attempt to do so I get this message:

Petition created. Use [emailpetition id=”0″] to display in a page or post. Use [signaturelist id=”0″] to display the signatures list or [signaturecount id=”0″] to show just the signature count.

Of course, there is no petition with id=”0″ in the list so this is really just an error.

I haven’t heard of this before. Does the petition exist in the dashboard? Do you have access to and understand phpMyAdmin or another database front end so you can see if the petition exists in the database?

Is this the same site where you already have existing petitions or is it a new site and the first petition?

It does not exist in the Dashboard, it’s like there is a problem saving it. I don’t normally like to mess around with the database directly, but on this occasion after failing to create the petition in the normal way, I went into MySQL and copied over an existing petition into a new row (just incrementing the ID field), and that did show up in the front end, but I couldn’t edit it: when I would try to make an edit and update the petition, there would be a message saying “Petition 6 updated” yet it wouldn’t actually be updated. The only way to update it is, again, via MySQL commands.

This is the same site with the existing petitions.
