# Creating interactive page

 * I have submitted another question earlier. I am a newbie in WordPress. I want
   to use 2016 theme to create a website. The site involved reading a database of
   external XML file into word press, e.g. list of books with components like title,
   author’s name, date published, publisher name, etc., and has interactive features
   such as depending upon user input will display the list of books, etc.
    In addition,
   I would like to have interactive features like when a user enters height and 
   weight, it will calculate and display minimum and maximum calorie requirement
   or typical body mass, etc. Is it possible to use WordPress and a theme like 2016?

 * Sure, but that’s not going to help you with accessing an external database or
   calculating body mass. You’ll need to either (a) write that code yourself, (b)
   use one or more plugins, or (c) hire a developer at a site like [http://jobs.wordpress.net/](http://jobs.wordpress.net/)
   or [https://jetpack.pro/](https://jetpack.pro/). Or some combination of all three.

 * Thanks. I do plan to do that for that portion (since I am primarily not a developer).
   The rest of the portion of my site just use traditional WordPress format that
   I can write on my own.
    I just want to check if WordPress has the capability 
   of doing such interaction and calculation program.

 * What you can do with WordPress is virtually unlimited. Having said that, what
   WordPress and your theme provide are the foundation. You need to supply the customizations
   that make your site unique.
