Support » Plugin: BuddyPress Docs » Creating and editing docs is not possible

  • Hi! I’ve installed your plugin for co-editing documents via out internal wordpress-site. Unfortunately it’s just possible to create docs from the backend. What doesn’t work is neither to edit the docs from the frontend nor to create them from the frontend. By clicking on the respective buttons nothing happens.

Our site is running on WordPress 5.2.2 using BuddyPress 4.4.0 and BuddyBoss 2.5.4 as the theme.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Happy to help, but you’ll have to provide some more details.

    – Exactly what link(s) are you trying to click in the front end? Please provide screenshots and/or URL formats (eg /docs/create as it appears in the ‘Add New’ button on /docs/)
    – When you say “nothing happens”, do you mean that literally, nothing happens? Or the page refreshes on the very same page? Or you get some sort of error?

I’m guessing that either (a) there’s a JS conflict with your theme, preventing the buttons from working properly (this would explain “nothing happens), or (b) your permalinks are broken (in this sense “doing nothing” would load some unrelated page). Try visiting Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks as a first step.

Thank your for your reply! I’m referring to the /docs page and “nothing happens” means that I can click on the button “Create a new doc” or “Edit” and than a new page loads but this page is more or lee empty as you can see at the screenshots:

Even though i try to edit a doc with content, nothing is shown. And creating a new doc from the frontend doesn’t work at all, it is not possible to write something.

Hope these details help a little bit!

    Hi, any update on this?

    Hi @bastian1899-

When WP_DEBUG is enabled, are you seeing any errors in your debug log? Read more about debugging here:

    What theme are you using?
