    The plugin won’t accomplish what you are trying to do. All redirects must be sent through the redirectit.php (or whatever name you give the file) for this plugin to process links.

    To redirect like you are talking about you’ll need the web server (Apache, Nginx, etc) to do it for you. You should 301 your old links to your new ones.
