Support » Fixing WordPress » Creating a shared fictional user?

  • Possibly a silly question, but is there some way I could create a fictional user account that’s shared amongst all of my site’s writers, without needing to create a whole new login and all that?

We have a whole section of our site devoted to fictional characters, who give really terrible advice and reviews and whatnot. I want to make it so all of our writers have access to our fictional writers, but if they have to log out and back in and all that, it’ll just be annoying and we’ll have to come up with something else. If there’s some magical plugin or something, that would be pretty killer 🙂

    very awesome

You can set up the fictional writers, and get your real writers to change the post’s author to which ever fictional writer when they publish it.

This isn’t seen in the standard install by default, but it’s there. Go to ‘Screen Options’ at the top right-hand side of your admin window, and that will drop down an area with options on it. Choose the ‘Author’ option, and that wll add another area at the bottom of the page that lets you choose which author to attribute that post to.

Sweet! Thank you so much! I’ll give it a try tomorrow, much appreciated! 🙂
