Support » Fixing WordPress » Creating a page in my menu that linkts to a Category

I haven’t quite been able to find a support page with someone describing this same problem.

It is helpful to view my page: since I am not very good at articulating these things. I don’t know the language.

I have a custom menu at the top of my page, and a category drop down menu that appears on the right of my page. I like the way that Categories automatically archives my posts. I also like the way I organized my pages in my menu bar. I would like *some* of the Pages in my Menu to link to the same place as *some* of my categories, but not all. This is why I don’t just drop my Categories widgit into my Menu.

From similar support posts, it sounds like I may need to do something with code if I want to link to a Category? But I have no idea what I’m doing with that, where to go, and am super intimidated I will do irreparable damage to my website if I screw around with coding with knowing EXACTLY WHAT I’M DOING.

Please assist. I’m a total amateur so I would appreciates step by step instructions. Thanks

P.S. how do I find out what version of wp I’m even using?!
