Creating a forum for nonprofit website

Hi,

I am developing a wordpress site for a nonprofit group that I work with. We are attempting to include a forum as part of our website where member chapters can share best practices, events, etc. Unfortunately, I have been unable to figure out how to do that. Does anyone know how I can setup a forum through wordpress or where I might be able to find directions on how to do it?

I’d suggest looking at bbPress for the forum, and even BuddyPress as well if you want to create a bigger social hub. You can use either one, or both together.
