Creating a filter

Hi guys
I’m setting up a website where people can easily filter on certain criteria (for example: what animals do they have, easy to park, etc) to find petting zoos in the area. They would then see results of all the different petting zoos that match these criteria. So like a product filter, except there are no products.
When looking for plugins, I only seem to find product filter plugins. Not what I’m looking for.
Question 1: How do I create such a filter type?
Question 2: Do I need to make these petting zoos as a post, so they can be filled with tags and categories? Or can I also make them into a page?Question from a total WordPress noob. Thanks!

Yes, Create post, with tags and categories and then use this plugin, place there widget into sidebar and you have perfect filter. 🙂Let me know if it works.
