    Hi,

within “Facebook Meta – Commerce Manager – Catalog” it is very complicated to create a “product selection” (which is getting used for “Advantage+ advertising campaigns) with proper images of my liking.

The created feed is using either the main image or the image assigned to the variant. Which can make sense if variant is red, blue, white etc.

But it makes not much sense if variant is size S, M, L etc.

Assigning different images to products and their variants within Commerce Manager is possible individually….which is a lot of work….and the next feed update would erase all the changes.

It is also possible to create an additional feed which is getting downloaded manually….but this feed would need special requirements.

I would have to find some way to include a specially defined image in the feed. For clothing it would look better to use a image with a model instead of the product image assigned to the variant.

Within plugin Yoast SEO I used the “Social Image”:

and then my idea was to use image link: Wc facebook product image source:

    https://snipboard.io/3V7hGz.jpg

But that did not work + any other attempts to change image link to anything different than “main image or the image assigned to the variant.”

Any idea how to create a feed with a image of my liking?

    Regards

    Hi @golfball-uhu ,

We currently do not have those options, you could try looking into adding custom fields to the product and assign the images there. Or use the rules and filter to replace certain main images into another image

You need to be more specific about your idea:

1.)  try looking into adding custom fields to the product and assign the images there.

2.) use the rules and filter to replace certain main images into another image

I already tried rules and filters but I´m no developer and would need some tips to implement this.

    Hi @golfball-uhu ,

If you simply want to set a specific image for a specific variant or product then the rules and filter should work.

Here’s a sample: https://www.loom.com/share/f453ae1ed85b45e3b82f79b638d456ee. On the video you will see that only 1 variant is affected.

Depending on your products you might need to do this a couple of times. For the custom fields, as you’ve mentioned you aren’t comfortable with coding, consider getting our Elite/Premium plugin.

You can enable custom field options and set it on the product editor form. From there you can easily map said field to the feed: https://ibb.co/7JGfT9B4

    Hi,

I tried your solution 1….from the video…but I would ned to do the same rule for every single variant…that means hundreds of rules.

Solution 2: it is unclear for me how to setup the custom field to manage my plan!?

    Hi @golfball-uhu ,

For custom fields, you will do the following

    • Make a custom field for the product, it’s an input field for the override image that you want to set for the variation
    • Then you just map it out accordingly on your feed.

To add these custom fields you will use either: https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/

As of now there are no full integrations with custom fields but I’ve answered a couple questions in the forum to implement custom fields: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/custom-fields-not-showing-in-dropdown/ or use our Elite feature for built in custom fields

Now, assuming you have custom fields – you will still need to set it’s value but will only need to do this once as it’s saved. Compared to doing the first method via rules and filter.

With rules and filters, you could always duplicate the feed and it’ll retain the rules and filter. If you want it to follow the Yoast SEO Social Image, this might be possible but I will need to raise a feature request for this. There’s no ETAs on this.
