Support » Plugin: Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin » Creating a Desktop and Mobile Version

  • I’ve had several people e-mail me after reading my review ( of the Google Calendar Events plugin on how to it, I thought I’d post how I did it.

    You have to create two Calendars, one for Desktop (Grid) and one for Mobile (List). Remember the two shortcodes, you’ll need that shortly.

    Create your Calendar Page and add one HTML Block with the following:

    <div class="desktop">[calendar id="2667"]</div>
    <div class="mobile">[calendar id="2669"]</div>

    You will need to edit the two id=2667 and id=2669 for your two calendar ID’s (shortcode).

    Once you’ve done that you need to add this to either your Child’s Theme CSS of your theme’s Custom CSS section:

    .mobile {display:none;}
    @media (max-width: 736px){
    	.desktop {display:none;}
    	.mobile {display:block;}

    If you’ve done this correctly you should see your desktop version as long as your screen size is larger than 736px. Screen sizes less than or equal to 736px will show your mobile version.

    You can see it live in the page below.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Thank you. the calendar on your page works excellent with this issue.
    Seams to be I need more coding job. I have WP version 5.3.1 and the plugin is not tasted in this version. so the last part of the tutorial does not display the options it´s suggest.

    I’m using WP 5.3.1 as well. The last part is where you have to add CSS. If you are using a Child Theme, you add it to your style.css file. If not, you just add it to your “Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS”.
