Creating a business directory only viewable by members

Hello everyone

I am looking to create a business directory on WordPress whereby you can only add a listing if you are a registered member of the site, but also you can only view the directory as a registered member too. (effectively hidden if you just hit the home page without being a member).

I don’t know whether to approach this by installing a social network such as Buddypress combined with a member directory plugin.

Or by installing a business directory plugin and then applying a member control plugin of some kind that restricts viewing access of the directory area.

would welcome any suggestions.
