    Hello all,
I’m looking to create a “tabbed” front page to my blog. I do not necessarily want to create another menu, but instead a small set of two links in which one (the default) would be my blog posts, and the second would be a static page. Clicking over the static page would display that page where the blog posts are currently. The user could then click the blog post link to get back to the posts.

I’ve mocked up a little visual, with the blue text as what I’d like to create. http://www.housebella.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/tobe20130329.jpg

My blog, as is, is at http://www.housebella.com

I’m using the WPShower theme Sight, with a decent amount of modifications.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Sara

Google jump page. I think that is what you are describing.

Thank you kmessinger, but I don’t think that’s what I’m after.

I know that you can create your homepage as a static page, or your homepage as a list of your current blog posts. I’m looking for the best of both worlds. My homepage defaults to my current posts, but clicking a link at the top of the text area will bring users to a static page. They’ll think they are still on my homepage- everything around it won’t change – but instead of my blog posts they’ll see static content.

So you should just add a page that is not a static page and put a link to it on the blog page or just use the menu system that wp comes with.

Or am I still not getting it?

I am undoubtedly not explaining it well enough, my bad.

I would like my front page to be exactly as it is now – showing my recent posts. I also want it to show the content of a static page, if the user choses to switch over to the static page.

I’d like them to be able to switch over the static page directly from the homepage…I do not want to re-direct them to a whole other location. When they click the button, or tab, or whatever it may be to see the static page, I want the static page to show up in the exact location of the list of current posts.

I did a mockup that hopefully helps visualize what I’m saying: http://www.housebella.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/hb.png

Great. I get it! One question – this will appear only on the posts or static page not on any of the pages in the main menu?

Seems like this could be done with css. You can add the links to the content if you want to keep the sidebar or the container if you don’t want the sidebar.

But, that kind of css is beyond the scope of this forum (someone could always jump in if they want). There are a lot of css help sites where help might be more readily available.

Ok, thank you! I was hoping to blunder through it myself but looks like I might need the assistance of a coder. I appreciate you sticking with me through the explanations!
