Created a demo in multisite, now how do I make that the primary?

I developed a demo site (www.site.com/demo) using multisite so that client could follow along with the progress and make changes. Client is now ready to make site the primary (www.site.com) but I don’t know the best way to accomplish this. I have researched a lot of different options, but have not come up with any clear-cut directions.
