Create “private” blog

  • I have a website http://www.td-online.net
this site consists of a personal blog and “professional” blog/portfolio. I keep all of my “personal” blogs password protected.. is thee away to make these posts not appear on the main page? And people can access it by a single password protected page on http://www.td-online.net/private or somethign? or would i have to install wordpresss in a nother directory call /blog or somethign?

  • If they’re all in one (or even several) specific categories (which don’t also have posts on the “professional” side), you can exclude those cats from appearing on the main page. Start here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_category

Personally, just thinking about the whole thing, I would prefer if this were me to install a second instance of wp in a second folder – you can use the same database, just give the new install a different prefix in the wp-config.php file.
