    Hi

I have spent the last few months creating a theme I would like to sell online, but I need to include a demo file so the purchaser can setup the site exactly as per my demo version. I think you all know what I mean.

How do I create a demo xml file which contains all the settings, widgets, menus etc exactly as I have them in the website? Normal export options do not work.

Is there a theme creator plugin? What about a demo file creator plugin? I would prefer a free option as I’m broke, but I will take a paid option if that’s all that’s available.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Regards

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

I’m not entirely sure how existing themes do it but from what I remember I’ve seen some offer a settings page with a button that says ‘Install demo content’. I’m guessing this already has it loaded in a script which directly adds and edits sections of the database. If you know how to code that could be the way to go.
