# Create Gallery Shortcode

 * I am looking to create a gallery shortcode that shows the first 6 thumbnails 
   from the gallery of the post and also adds a button at the end “View Gallery (
   13)” with 13 being the total number of photos in the gallery.
 * Any ideas would be much appreciated.

 * WordPress already has a shortcode for gallery. You may want to look at that here:

   or did you mean you want to create a custom shortcode ( perhaps a plugin 😉 )

 * I know about that. I want to create a custom shortcode – no need for a plugin.
   Unfortunately, I am not an expert coder 🙁
