 * Ok, so first off I have already set the static pages to go to my “blog” page.
 * My blog shows up just fine, but when I click on a blog topic, the URL does not
   show the individual post as being saved under this “blog” page, rather its a
   page under the main directory.
 * Here is what I am after:
    [http://www.mainsite.com/blog/post1](http://www.mainsite.com/blog/post1)
 * Here is what I get:
    [http://www.mainsite.com/blog](http://www.mainsite.com/blog)
   [http://www.mainsite.com/post1](http://www.mainsite.com/post1)
 * Help!

 * Looks like you’re running WordPress at the server root ([http://www.mainsite.com/](http://www.mainsite.com/)).
   That means you’d need to add the “blog” part of the URL manually.
 * To do that, you could modify the Permalink structure to include “blog” at the
   directory root.
 * On your WordPress Dashboard, go to _Settings_ > _Permalinks_
 * Then, under _Common Settings_, choose _Custom Structure_. Add “blog” behind _/%
   postname%/_, so it looks like this:
 * [http://www.mainsite.com/blog/%postname%/](http://www.mainsite.com/blog/%postname%/)

 * Would this set all of my pages to be part of this sub directory as well? I figured
   that would be the answer, but I dont want to make the change and screw up the
   existing pages.

 * Existing setup:
    [http://www.mainsite.com/page1](http://www.mainsite.com/page1)
 * I do not want this to happen:
    [http://www.mainsite.com/blog/page1](http://www.mainsite.com/blog/page1)(
   NOT OK)
 * [http://www.mainsite.com/blog/post1](http://www.mainsite.com/blog/post1) (OK)

 * The Permalinks setting will only affect your blog _Posts_, not your _Pages_,
   so you’re safe.
 * [http://www.mainsite.com/page1](http://www.mainsite.com/page1) will _not_ show
   up as [http://www.mainsite.com/blog/page1](http://www.mainsite.com/blog/page1)

 * Excellent, Thank you Adam! This is exactly what I was looking for.
