Hi everyone. I have create a new page for my soccerteam (www.kransenunited.se). Each player on the site has it own page right now.
That I want to do is create a template for the squad so I easy can put in or delete players. So when I want to put in a new player to the site I just have to fill the information and upload a picture, then save it. How do I make this template?

Hope you understand my question. I'm swedish.

  2. HallÄ. :p You could create a Custom Post Type (CPT) for your football player's pages. A good introduction and tutorial on CPTs can be found here: http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/plugins/a-guide-to-wordpress-custom-post-types-creation-display-and-meta-boxes/

There are many plugins for creating Custom Post Types in the W.org repository. Two of the most popular at this moment are Advanced Custom Fields and Pods.

Correction, ACF doesn't create Custom Post Types, but Custom Post Type UI does. ACF only adds fields at the moment.

  4. Ah, thanks for the correction! I've only ever used Pods myself. :)

Thanks for the recommendations. However, I do not understand quite how I'm doing. I'll just have to watch the introductory video again.

  6. There's a very good introduction to CPTs on WordPress.tv, if you're interested: http://wordpress.tv/2013/04/12/tracy-levesque-custom-post-types-for-right-brained-folks/

I've been watching a lot of clips now.
So if I rename the "Post type name" to squad. Should then taxonomies be information about the players? For example: #, Age, First club etc.
Or is it such that "Type-name" must be a player?
And second, could anyone tell me where to put the codes in Function.php?
