[Resolved] Create a New Offline Page for Gatekeeper?

  • Using Gatekeeper to redirect from the site homepage, am I supposed to create a new page that says something like “Under Construction,” “Coming Soon” or “Offline for Maintenance” and link to that as the “offline page” in Tools? I don’t quite get how this works and I’m a WordPress webpage novice! Thanks,

I apologize for not catching this support request sooner. If it’s still useful, the answer to your question is: yes. You’ll need to create a non-WordPress page that you’ll use as your “offline” page. You can then have Gatekeeper redirect visitors to that page while the site is offline.

I cannot get Gatekeeper to redirect to any page. Is there something special I must do? I have created a directory for the offline.html to live but even with the site set offline, I still see the wordpress pages. Please advise.

    Could be two things:

    1. If you’re logged in and have “Whitelist Logged-in Admins” checked, it’ll let you see the page normally. You’ll need to either log out of WordPress or uncheck that box.

    2. If “Auto-Protect Admin IP” is checked, it’ll automatically whitelist the IP address you were using when you last saved your settings. You’ll need to uncheck that box.

Let me know if those things work for you.
