Support » Fixing WordPress » Create a Home link on front page menu

  • Hi,

I want to create a home page link on my website, however, I am not sure how to do it. I don’t want to create a static page as my front page is updated by my posts. How do I do it? should I just create a page and then do a redirect?

    Thanks,

  • The menu is most likely in header.php of your theme.

Thanks Jonas, but I have no clue what to do with the header.php file

    Appearance>menus
create a custom menu and make it active
add a custom link, and make the URL the URL to your home page, and set the Label as Home

Thanks bheadrick, but then it cancels out my existing page based menu

Go to Appearance in the admin menu and see if your theme allows you to create custom menus. If so, you can add the link there without editing any php files.

Thanks Jonas! I created a new menu and created a custom link within that menu.. cheers!

my theme dosent alow i guess, but i had done it somehow with previous versions of wordpress many builds ago – now under appearance and menu its whited out and not allowed – so my question is how can i do this manually..
