Crashes site on update

    I’m using the Divi theme, and the last two times I’ve tried to update Yoast SEO through the dashboard, it’s failed, requiring me to delete the plugin folder from my server and re-install. As a special bonus, this last upgrade caused my site to go into “maintenance mode,” requiring me to delete the .maintenance file from the WordPress root folder just to get my site back up and running. Ridiculous.

    We are sorry you’re experiencing problems with Yoast SEO. In order to identify what the problem may be, we’d need additional information.

    • Did you get any error when updating Yoast SEO? If so, please describe the error message or take a screenshot so that we can have a look.
    • Did this happen with the latest versions of WordPress 4.8.2, Yoast SEO 5.5.1 and Divi?
    • If you are already up-to-date, you may want to perform a conflict check as sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict.
