• I have been having all sorts of issues with my sites crashing and getting errors like CPU usage/resources being used up since last fall.

I keep my plugins/themes updated. I have cache plugins installed on the advice of my webhost but I don’t even know if they are set right or if I am using them right. I moved from a shared to virtual server. I have 2 main sites hosted together and get about 400 visitors a day to each site. I have 2 other sites hosted too on the same server with only a 20 people a day or so.

I use WordPress for all 4 and Genesis/Magazine Theme for 2.

I am not a programmer/IT person and don’t know what the VHM server is doing or telling me or how to use/run it. My webhost guys do stuff when it crashes and have been helpful. I use a small hosting company called ez-web-hosting.com that I have used for over 12 years. I just am a WordPress user and have been using it for about 12 years without any issues like this. I don’t know what to do anymore…

My webhost people say it is plugin conflicts but I don’t know how to figure it out really. I have turned off various plugins but it still will eventually do something to crash or slow down etc.

I want to develop a new site using WordPress but am hesitant to do so before figuring this out.
Is WordPress getting too big for regular users? I don’t want to have to hire someone to manage all this as my sites are not making enough money yet.

    thanks for any insights
    Julie

    Hello.

I don’t see how plugin conflicts can bring your server to a halt.

What is your host telling you? Is your virtual server using up all the memory?

There are sites that receive easily hundreds of thousands of people per day and are working great.

    WordPress isn’t the limit here!

my webhost says it is plugin conflicts.

It usually says cpu usage is maxed or when it crashes it just shows like one line of text that says resources have reached their limit.

the webhost has increased all of my limits.

    thanks
