That sounds like a hiccup during the installation. Probably the best way to move forward is to remove the plugin folder and give it another go. Alternatively, you can download the plugin files, unzip them and upload them through FTP. That should resolve the problem for you.

there is no plugin folder for yoast so there is nothing to remove.

Posting at the same time. That doesn’t really help.
The error sounds as if files are missing from the installation. Can you (manually) check through FTP if the files are there on your server? If they aren’t, can try uploading them again?

same error.for some reasons every time filezilla fail to transfer 163 files.
on upload filezilla is saying some filles already exists.how is that possible as long there is no yoast folder on my wp content/plugins ?

Wow. This sounds pretty bad, but not related to Yoast SEO specific. The best advice I can give you is to reach out to your web host to have them check how this is possible.

just noticed problem is on js folder under zip.there is where troubles start.is the a js folder that yoast create on wordpress?is saying is already exist
In the past, we’ve seen that such issues can arise when there was a partial installation of the plugin, due to a hiccup of the web server. In the past cases, this could only be resolved by the host, because direct access to the server’s file system was needed.
That’s why my advice would be to reach out to your web host. They can probably solve this issue in an instant.
got it fixed only by deleting wordpress , lol
backed up everything ,removed ,re installed and everything working now.
all of this cos this fking plugin 🙂
