My question relates to tags and Add Listing form fields

I created tags in the dedicated tags section, but they do not seem to match or relate in anyway to fields in the Add Listing Form Settings section

    ie
    Form Settings Options Values
Q! -how do i make what i imput in Options Value, match tags in tags section
    related
Q2 – If values I put in Options Values do Not match tags, then how do i later sort listings by the options value imputs.

Q3 – if tags section does not relate to fields in Settings section, then how do you use them???

Thanks otherwise like GD but am finding setting up the fields and relation to tags frustrating.

Hopefully you can help me clear this up, thanks

    Hello,

tags are a specific feature of WordPress. GD has a field for tags that is present in every CPT including places and events. You can add tags when you add listings or through the backend edit screens.

Additional custom fields created with the GeoDirectory settings are not connected to tags. The additional custom fields like a select type or multiselect type store their values separately.

Tags are a powerful feature for grouping listings and specifically easy to edit because you can edit them in bulk through the backend screen or through bulk import and export.

Tags can be used to filter the GD Listings widget or GD Map widget.

We often recommend making tags an admin only field so you can use them to create those filter groups.

thanks, I think i understand better, but am still a bit confused

“Additional custom fields created with the GeoDirectory settings are not connected to tags. The additional custom fields like a select type or multiselect type store their values separately.”

Where are these values stored? ie if i need to add the result of a value on an individual listing page; then how do i conect the value to the page? ie how do i show results of Options value fields on a front end listing?

Also is the listing page done with Ninja Forms? Can i add sections etc to the front end Add Listings Page?

Thanks for your help, not sure why I could not find any of this info in your documentation.

Great plugin, thanks, just need to figure this out before i can start buidling my site.

    Hello,

you can add asany custom fields as you like in the Custom Post Type settings.

    For example in
Places -> Settings -> Custom Fields

When you add a field make sure to mark it active and then it will show on the add listing for for that CPT.

To easily show a field on your frontend use one of our widgets.

    https://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/category/36-core-widgets

I recommend you check the doc for GD Output Location and GF Post Meta to start. Add those to your GD Details template.
