Hi! Just been checking out this plugin again and was planning to upgrade to pro but I ran into a problem.

Previously I had the default “post” post type at mydomain.com/articles/ and I deactivated this plugin while I worked on setting up a custom post type with pods called “articles” to replace the default post type. This worked fine, but after I re-activated permalink manager, its not loading the custom post type “articles” archive anymore, though it does load the actual “articles” posts. Before re-activating permalink manager I removed all references to the default post types using the “articles” slug.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @damienlee,

In general, my plugin ignores post type archive pages completely and contains no code that might impact them in any way. Actually, a few people have previously reported the same issue, and it eventually turned out that it was caused by incorrect rewrite settings rather than the plugin itself.

Even if you have previously restored the default “post” original settings, the rewrite rules will remain unchanged and your proper permalink settings will not be in effect. Could you try to flush them using the below instructions?

There must be something that touches on archive permalinks in some manner as if i change the post type slug with rewrite rules to “article” rather than “articles” and then rewrite the permalinks in the manager it works. Also if I disable permalink manager it works too.

I had already tried flushing the permalinks as suggested but tried again anyway without luck. I think as it works with “article” rather than the “articles” slug I may just do this for now. Its not what I ideally want but I’m not sure its worth the time to try and find what the conflict is with permalink manager.

    Hi @damienlee,

Could you try adding “?debug_url=1” to the end of non-working archive URL when Permalink Manager is activated? Please send me the screenshot with the additional debug data displayed.

    Solved! haha

Thanks that helped actually. I cant believe it but for some reason I had a page with the slug “articles” though not sure why. My apologies for this was my error. Though your last suggestion helped me find it. Thanks!
