    If you are using htpasswd on your site, better wp security can cause it to stop working. The reason is that cpanel thinks the text ‘frontpage’ in your htaccess page means that frontpage is enabled. And frontpage and htpasswd are incompatible.

    To make your htpasswd function work again, remove this line from htaccess

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^MSFrontPage [NC,OR]

    You will have to recreate your htpasswd users and passwords
