Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » Cpacing between check boxes

  • Please help currently I am using the plugin Contact form 7 on my site I need to have four check boxes evenly spaced out on each line however I have noticed that when creating check boxes the spacing is very close to each other and the only way to date I have been able to change the spacing is to use the html code for a white space and duplicate this over and over again to get the spacing between the tick boxes see here

    How can I have the check boxes automatically be four check boxes per line evenly spaced? I pressume this would have something to do with a css file somewhere if anyone can point me in the wirte direction of where and what needs to be done to achieve the above I would greatly appreciate it.

  • As you suspect this is a CSS issue.

    To change the style of your CF7 forms you would need to edit the CSS style sheets used by your WordPress theme.

    See Styling Contact Form for a general explanation of styling CF7 forms using CSS. If you are not familiar with CSS, this page also includes some links to where you can learn CSS.

    The most common and preferred method is to create a Child Theme and make any necessary additions to the CSS in the child themes style.css only, rather than directly in the themes styles.css. That way you don’t loose your changes when you update the theme.

    Use Firebug or Chrome Dev Tools to examine the HTML and CSS of your CF7 form in detail. Once you understand how the HTML and CSS is configured in your CF7 form, you should be able to see the CSS changes you need to change the appearance of the form to suit your requirements.

    Also good idea to target CSS classes & ids used within your CF7 forms only, so that your CSS changes don’t inadvertantly effect other elements on your website.

    thank you I can see there is an area that allows me to update the css in the website template across the entire site I have added the below css however it places everything in one line down the page, what css do I need to add to ensure that it will automatically add 4 checkboxes at equal length across the page when I add these???

    span.wpcf7-list-item {
    margin-left: 0.5em;
    display: block;

    Please help all I want to do is add some css that ensures that there are automatically four check boxes per line evenly spaced apart please does anyone know the css I need to add to achieve this please??
