    Hello, WPMU DEV staff!

After updating my Coursepress plugin to version 1.2.6.3 (latest version as of September, 29th 2015), I have an issue with CP translation: my site is in Russian (ru_RU) language and I have a fully translated CP (cp-ru_RU.po file created using Poedit) but all CP-related functionality is still in English.

Prior to 1.2.6.3 update everything was fine. At first I thought that there was an issue with the older version of translation file (which I keep since the 1.2.5.1 version of CP), but having created a new translation file using cp-default.pot from current CP version (using the latest Poedit version) I still experience the same behaviour – translation does not work (checked with different WP installations – no luck whatsoever).

Any help would be really appreciated.

  • I have the same issue. My site is in Spanish. Already tryed to upload the .mo file in Spanish but it´s not working.

How can I make the translation as it was before this plugin update?

    Thanks Bojan!

    Dear elguide,

I temporarily resolved the issue by restoring Coursepress from 1.2.6.2 backup.

Hope my solution helps you while the devs are working on the issue from their side.

    Hey there guys,

Can you please try renaming the .po and .mo files to coursepress-en_GB.

Replace the en_GB with the correct extension for your own languages.

Please let me know if this helps 🙂

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Hi Bojan, I´ve tryed renaming the files to coursepress-es_ES in the folder public_html/wp-content/plugins/coursepress/languages but nothing happened. The language is still in english.

How can I solve this issue?

    Thanks!

    Hey there elguide,

Did you change the language in Settings -> General?

Do you have both files there? Both .po and .mo?

    Please advise,
    Bojan

Hi Bojan, Yes, I did change the language in Settings – General a long time ago. I have both files .pot (not .po) and .mo in public_html/wp-content/plugins/coursepress/languages.

    What should I do?

    Thanks!

    Hi, elguide.

If you have purchased CoursePress PRO, you should revert naming back to “cp-LANG_CODE” scheme. After purchasing pro version I had to rename language files back to cp-ru_RU.po and cp-ru_RU.mo for the translation to work properly.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey elguide,

I quickly tested the translation files for free version of CoursePress, please check if your files are named coursepress-en_GB in case you’re using free version.

Can you please let me know how are you files named?

    @beastofman thanks for helping 🙂

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Hi Bojan,

    The files are named:

    coursepress-es_ES.mo

    coursepress-es_ES.pot

    Both in the path: public_html/wp-content/plugins/coursepress/languages

    Hey again elguide,

The issue could be related to your file having .pot extension instead of .po

.pot file should the the default empty translation, you’ll need to create .po file out of that one. I checked this and you can do it in Poedit by clicking on the following button, see screenshot http://screencast.com/t/bSnuoNkWQ.

    Hope this helps 🙂

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Hi Bojan. You are right, that was the issue. Problem solved! Thanks.

The only thing left is that when I click the Courses page, the language changes to english in that specific page. It says: ¨Courses¨ instead of ¨Cursos & Talleres¨ and ¨Details¨ instead of ¨Detalles¨. You can check this on my site: http://www.prakaya.com/talleres/

All the other pages are OK. Do you know why the translation is not working on the courses page?

    Thanks my friend!

Problem solved Bojan!!! Thanks for all your help. Really great service. Thanks!
