Coupons not applicable

I created a coupon (product discount) with no restrictions except that it can only be used 1 time per user. Every time I use the coupon on checkout, it says “Sorry, this coupon is not applicable to your basket contents.”

I’ve created similar coupon in the past before the upgrade to WooCommerce 2.5.5 and it was working. Did the update to 2.5.5 break coupons?

Hi there,

When you use the Product Discount option, you will have to enter the products to which it applies in the Usage Restriction area… if you try that, does it work?

Yes, I tried with both and still doesn’t recognise the coupon.

Ensure the code is unique. If you use the same code as an older coupon, the older one may match.

I’ve now limited it to a product as suggested and still doesn’t apply it to the basket contents.

I just updated to WooCommerce 2.6.2 and the problem still persists. I did test on a local copy of the site and cannot replicate the issue – the coupons are working perfectly on a local setting.

@piggynaut maybe some plugin causing it that you did not installed in your local site.

@claudio: Both local and live sites are now running the same plugins (same versions of plugins, too) and the problem still persists on the live site.

Will really appreciate help on this as we’re currently unable to run offers.

Is it definitely that 1 restriction option braking it here? If you remove the restriction what happens.

You can even create a new coupon with NO restrictions to test. That would also help rule out if its coupon name at fault.
