We see – again – weird numbers for the coupon statistics. In the marketing section I see 62 coupons used:

The analytics section shows 57 coupons used:

Running a query directly in the database for order_id (duplicates removed) results in 58 orders:

This is really not the first time that numbers simply don’t match at all. Frankly, this is the rule and not the exception. I have no idea how this could even be possible. I mean, a coupon code is a coupon code is a coupon code. There is no room for interpretation. Of course, I cleared the analytics cache.

    Hello @cutu234!

Check if you’ve excluded certain order statuses from the Analytics => Settings tab. Excluded orders will be ignored, which could explain why the value in analytics doesn’t match the actual times the coupon was used.

We include only completed orders in the analytics section. I’ve just checked it again:
    Coupon section: 77 orders
Analytics section (only completed orders included): 69 orders
Database query only for completed orders: 63 orders
Database query for all statuses: 72 orders

These differences are not the end of the world. But I would like to understand how this is calculated. I simply need a metric that is reliable for comparisons.

    Hello cutu234,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand you’re seeing different numbers for coupon usage in the marketing section (62), analytics section (57), and in your direct database query (58).

You mentioned this has happened before. Could you share a link if you’ve already opened a thread about it in the past?

To investigate further, I need to review your site’s System Status Report. You can paste it at https://pastebin.com and share the link here.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂
