    Hello,

I typically love your plugins. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t appear to work for me. I tried it on two of my websites and saw different problems on each. On one, I entered the Google Authentication code, from my phone, and then I had to answer a simple math problem. Unfortunately after I answered the question, I received an error that told me the Jetpack math module was not installed (or something like that).

On the other website, I entered my user name and password and I kept getting the ‘Password Not Correct’ error. When I deactivated the plugin, using phpMyAdmin, my user name and password worked fine.

Of course, my issues could be due to user error or a problem with one of my other plugins. So, I’ll wait to see if others have similar problems. Just thought I’d give you heads up.

Okay… So I believe the problem is that the Two-Factor Authentication plugin conflicts with JetPack’s Protect module (which was BruteProtect). Without the Two-Factor Authentication plugin, the Protect module doesn’t give me a bit of problems. With the Two-Factor plugin activated, however, I’m allowed to logout and login once. The second time I logout and login, the login screen includes a math problem with a statement that asks ‘Prove your Humanity.’ When I solve the math problem correctly, I receive the following error: Fatal error: Class ‘Jetpack_Protect_Math_Authenticate’ not found in …/wpcontent/plugins/jetpack/modules/protect.php on line 221. I actually shouldn’t receive the Math Authentication question at all since I listed my IP on the Protect White Page. And, as I said, I don’t have to do the Math Authentication step when I deactivate the Two-Factor Authentication.

    I hope this helps,
    Ric

Nevermind… The problem with Jetpack’s Protect happened even when Two-Factor Authentication was disabled. I guess my constant logging in and out kicked off the JetPack Protect’s Math Authentication algorithm. When I resaved my Permalinks, it cleared up the error message. So now the two-factor authentication plugin works great.

Jetpack Protect is causing all of my sites to have the same login errors.

Fatal error: Class ‘Jetpack_Protect_Math_Authenticate’ not found in …/wpcontent/plugins/jetpack/modules/protect.php on line 221

I logged in as usual with my ID and password entered from my Norton Vault. Then I read an article in the Tavern. I then clicked on my Favourites Bar link to get the login screen back and got the math question mentioned in the other posts. It asked for the answer to 0+3. When I entered 3 and selected login I got rejected with the Error already quoted.

Whilst writing this I have opened another tab and again chosen the link to my login page but this time there was no math question and login has been successful.

When I started this post I was a little concerned that I may not be able to login again. I have not deployed two factor authentication.

Could the problem have arisen because I was attempting to login a 2nd time while I already had a session open?

Im experiencing the same exact issue.

Im experiencing the same exact issue.

Just updated a site and immediately had the exact same issue, simply disabled JetPack by renaming jetpack.php.

Guess I’ll have to keep it disabled until we see a fix.

    Hi guys,

There seem to be multiple issues being discussed in this thread. As per the WordPress forum guidelines – http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post – it’d be best if those with other issues than the original poster start their own thread.

Reading through this, the original poster seems to have concluded that the Jetpack module was buggy – he had the same issue without two factor installed – ? At least, he resolved the issue with the steps he indicated.

P.S. Especially, people saying “I have not deployed two factor authentication” are in the wrong forum. This is the Two Factor Authentication plugin forum – the Jetpack / Bruteprotect people won’t be reading this forum, and will remain entirely ignorant of any problems in their plugin you identify here – you’ll want to go to that plugin’s forum instead.

Please accept my apologies. I should’ve realized which plugin was buggy before I started posting. It’s just that the issue didn’t occur until right after I installed Two Factor. Also, I had been using BruteProtect/Protect for some time without a problem.

So basically, I started another thread on the Jetpack Forum Here -> https://wordpress.org/support/topic/jetpack-protect-is-locking-me-out?replies=2#post-6733894. That way we’re not discussing issues that don’t relate to Two Factor Authentication.

Sorry edited because I keep posting the wrong link.
