I have set my settings to not show the count but they are showing anyway. Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you show them before, and then switched to “no”? Maybe you have a cache plugin installed?

No I don’t have a cache plugin and I cleared my browser cache and I still have the same problem.

What’s your blog url? Do you have a screenshot of your selections in the admin area?

I changed the icons and now the count is not there!!
