In my testing on a fresh site using the latest version of the plugin, the last post shows the right number of the post as follows: https://prnt.sc/KeLGo_1RsObM
To investigate the issue further, could you please let us know what version of the plugin you are using? Additionally, could you also make a test by disabling other plugins to see whether it is affected by one of them or not?
FYI, on our site the plugin reports accurate counts for other series with fewer items. So your test, unless it involved a 14+ item series, may indeed show the correct stats.
To remove the issue of potentially interfering plugins, I loaded a clone of our Web site into a staging environment and made no other changes. The stats count for that page in the staging environment shows “This entry is part 15 of 14 in the series…”, the same as for the production site.
So I disabled ALL other site plugins except for the version 2.17.0 Series plugin, purged the cache and reloaded the page. The stats count continues to show “This entry is part 15 of 14 in the series…”
This corrected the count display on the front end to now show “14 of 14” rather than “15 of 14.” So that appears to be the fix for the item count disregulation.
However, it’s unclear why the count was incorrect to begin with. Also, the existence of the “Update Order” button probably needs to be relocated to some more obvious location and documented (possibly with a roll-over help screen). You may want to consider making the function of the button global so it corrects all disregulated item counts and not just the one list being viewed at the time.
