• Maybe it’s a good plugin, I don’t know, but the gigantic admin notice to submit a plugin review prevented me from using it. So here I am, submitting a review, as you asked. Good luck!

Hi @kovshenin. Thanks for using PublishPress Blocks.

I know you have a lot of WordPress experience and I’ve seen your plugin work around. We’ve talked with you and your brother before.

So, I’d appreciate any help to figure this one out. Could you help us understand this issue more, please? There are 30k users, but we’ve had zero other reports of this so we’re in the dark.

What did you see? What was the problem with the review request?

Here’s a screenshot. Can’t believe none of the 30k users pointed this out before, so here’s one I found with a 4 second search. Also makes it within the gray area of the plugin guidelines and soliciting reviews, but I’m not here to argue about that.

    Thanks for following up, @kovshenin

We use this review library by Danier Iser: https://github.com/danieliser/WP-Product-In-Dash-Review-Requests.

I know you have a lot of experience in WordPress, but this really is a very common library used in a ton of other plugins. We’re using it in almost-out-of-the-box.

With that other review, the user wasn’t talking about the banner itself. They encountered a bug that happened the first time we added the banner to the plugin. There was a conflict with another plugin and users with both plugins couldn’t dismiss the banner. We fixed it in the next release.

No problem. Doesn’t really look like a very common (or maintained) library to be honest, but also not relevant to this conversation. I’m not here to fix your plugin, or any of its upstream dependencies. I came here to share my experience with this product.

I’ve never used it, don’t even know what it does. I just logged into some WordPress site and it blew up in my face, begging for a review. So here I am, simple as that 🙂

    OK, thanks @kovshenin.

    I understand your feedback.

As a fellow plugin developer, you know it’s never fun to get a 1 star review. If you do see an issue with one of our plugins, please always feel free to reach out to us before hitting that negative review button. You and I have talked on Slack and by email before. We’re easy to find.

And for anyone reading else this, you can post here https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/advanced-gutenberg/ or email help@publishpress.com.
