• Hello! We successfully used the Easy WP SMTP plugin for the last 1.5-2 years, but it suddenly quit working. When I attempt to send a test email I get this:

    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO grouptraining.pineseducation.org
    CLIENT -> SERVER: STARTTLS

    I updated and saved my Gmail SMTP password within the plugin settings, but it still doesn’t work.

    We use plugin version 1.3.7 on WordPress install 4.9.8.

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Valerie

    Okay, now that I posted my question I’m one step closer to figuring it out.
    I had to recently change my Gmail password, and I enabled 2-step verification in the process. From what I gather from this link (https://support.google.com/mail/?p=InvalidSecondFactor), that might be the issue causing the plugin’s inability to communicate.

    How can I fix that while keeping 2-step verification? Is that possible?

    Thanks,
    Valerie

    Hi,

    What happens if you disable 2-step verification just for testing purposes? Is your issue fixed?

    Regards
