Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » Could be great…but

  • You might want to edit your FAQ and erase fully in your statement:
Can I add HTML to photo captions?
Yes, caption areas are fully HMTL capable. FALSE !
Can I add an external links to galleries?
Since the captions are fully HTML capable, you can add external links and any other type of mark up you wish. FALSE!
Be aware that you can’t put certain html code that you want in caption/description field for the image.
it has routine to disregard certain href html code (just try to add target or class to your link) on saving the field. Routine which was disabled on Plus/Pro paid add on. So, i then upgraded then for Plus.
Well it did work for awhile, then upgrade to the last version (3.3.17&1.6.30) and it didn’t work anymore.
So if you want out of the box, simple and very nice photo gallery it’s really for you but if at some point you want or need to tweak, add stuff etc it’s poorly documented for that and you will face dead end. Also paid addon support by ticket without a customer’s forum is frustrating as you can’t search if anyone was facing the same problem/solution. there’s no track of addon version, modification etc..

    Hello @co20,

Apologies, could you please share with us the direct link to that information? We couldn’t find that specific remark on our site imagely.com.

We already let you know that enabling full HTML tag support on titles and descriptions is not possible due to security measures.

We are so sorry, but this forum is only for our community free version. We are not allowed to address paid features in this WordPress forum.

    Hello,

I refer to faq of the plugin here on wordpress.org.
For the security reason of the target attributes it can comes with rel=noopener.
by the way, it is how it’s handle in here : https://mathiasbynens.github.io/rel-noopener/" rel="noopener" target="_blank".
So maybe for security reason, it could add automically the rel=noopener attribute if i forget it, but not block my choice to use the target attribute and how i handle different link on my wordpress site.
