Cost field shows as FREE event with the cost field extension installed

    I installed the cost field extension to allow that field to be editable even with event tickets installed. However, when I edit the cost field to be “blank”, as described in settings, it is not supposed to show at all. But instead it shows as FREE on the event. I cannot have this, it is false advertising. I need it to remain blank, or I need it to show the actual cost I put into the field, but never ever FREE.

    This is holding up our site release so if we can’t get support I’ll need to stop using event ticket (which I had planned to pay to upgrade for additional features, but not unless I know this is going to work). Please advise as soon as possible.

    I’d be willing to add code to just permanently hide that specific field if you could kindly post it here. I can just put the cost in the event title.

    Hi there,

    You could hide the cost field with CSS. However, you may as well disable the extension if you are not going to show it anywhere.

    One way to do approach this would be to create an event category to add to events that you want to hide this field on.

    Add that to your child theme’s functions.php file. Then, add the following CSS in your child theme’s styles.css file, or in the customizer’s “additional CSS” panel.

    .is-free-event .tribe-block__event-price {
    display: none;
    }

    Finally, create an event category with the slug “freeevents” and add that to events where you want the field to be hidden.

    Hello Sky,

    The provided solution didn’t work with me, I am getting Cost:free-x$ when using the cost plugin.

    with the event ticket plugin once I do enable RSVP it shows free all the time and I am not able to set the price for the RSVP.

    Appreciate your support and looking forward for your feedback.
