Two issues. First, since I put the wordpress folder inside a subdomain, right now if I want to view it, I have to put test.cnbeyer.com/wordpress/ to see it. What do I do so you can just read it at test.cnbeyer.com? (that's the actual subdomain name, incidentally)

Second...while attempting to correct this problem, I screwed up something in the settings. Now, when i go to http://test.cnbeyer.com/wordpress/wp-login.php, I can type in my login info, but then it tries sending me to http://test.cnbeyer.com/wp-login.php, which it doesn't recognize as valid. Ergo, I can't log-in and fix the problem. Meanwhile, http://test.cnbeyer.com/wordpress/ now displays oddly (which makes sense as the system is confused about how folders relate to one another)

    help?

Ok, first, I've fixed the huge break originally caused by making a change to wp-config. So at least I have my material back.

however, the article you're linking to seems to be doing the opposite of what I want. I have files in a "wordpress" folder. That's always where the files have been. I want to be able to see them at http://test.cnbeyer.com/ rather than http://test.cnbeyer.com/wordpress/ (which is what is happening now)

There are three sets of instructions on the page I referenced. You want to use this one:
